报告内容简介:
This presentation reviews why the phenomena of hydrogen induced stress corrosion cracking (HISCC) of steels could prevail over other forms of degradation. Having been extensively studies and reported, there are many references to combinations of material and environments that exacerbate the likelihood of HISCC. Examples include temperature, addition of precipitation alloying elements, metallurgical impurities, pH changes. Shreir’s Corrosion book collates several of these and has informed this presentation. Topics covered include aspects of the fundamental kinetics, microstructural and chemical effects of HISCC, examples of mitigation efforts including for steel soil anchors, as well as strategies to manage safety implications when HISCC is expected.
